How to troubleshoot campaigns
Here is what what to do If your campaign underperforms and how to understand why it does so.
Case 1
Let's assume that you set up a campaign for desktop traffic from the United States and created a Banner creative, but your campaign does not bid for some reason.
You can troubleshoot this issue with the help of the Creative Debug feature:
Go to the Creative page.
Chose the endpoints for debugging in the Endpoints For Debug list
Click the Enable Debug button on the Сreative settings page.
Wait a few minutes after opening the Creative debug information page.
Click the Restart Tracing button to restart the debugging process.
The result of the creative debugging.
The Creative Debug information shows the percentage of reasons why there are no bids on incoming requests.
As we can see from the information provided by Creative Debug, our campaign does not bid because of these reasons:
Device type allowlist means that 75.22 % of all requests are rejected due to the device type targeting settings — the incoming traffic is not from the desktop devices.
Geo location allowlist means that 62.4 % of all requests are rejected due to the geo-targeting settings — the incoming traffic is not from the United States.
Inappropriate creative size means that 53 % of all requests are rejected because the sizes of the creative specified in the requests do not match the actual sizes of the creative.
Bid floor means that 16.24 % of all requests are rejected because the bid price of the creative is lower than the bid floor specified in the requests.
If the percentage of rejected requests is less than 100% for any reason, this usually indicates that there is only a small amount of suitable traffic from the traffic sources linked to the campaign level. To solve this problem, contact your SSP partner to agree on traffic supply and make sure your Targeting is set according to the traffic you're receiving from your SSP.
📘Kindly note
You can analyze incoming traffic for the presence of the parameters you need (for example the United States geo) with the help of the Media planning feature.
Case 2
Let's assume that you set up a campaign for traffic from Germany and created a Video creative, but the Creative Debug information shows the following reasons:
The result of the creative debugging.
Inappropriate media type means that 100 % of all requests are rejected because the creative media type specified in the requests doesn't match the actual media type of the creative.
Video orientation filter means that 99.45 % of all requests are rejected because the video orientation specified in the requests doesn't correspond to the video banner settings.
Inappropriate creative size means that 93.3 % of all requests are rejected because the creative size specified in the requests doesn't correspond to the actual size of the creative.
Geo location allowlist means that 8.11% of all requests are rejected due to the geo-targeting settings — the incoming traffic is not from Germany.
If the percentage of rejected requests is equal to 100%, this indicates that there is a crucial conflict between the campaign settings and the incoming traffic, and such a campaign cannot bid. In such a case, please, contact your Adzora Support Team ASAP to agree on all the campaign and banner settings according to the traffic you're receiving from your SSP.
